Faciilty 0022 :

2021, a small dense meteorite crashes into the Atlantic 113 miles off the coast of the United States. The resulting tsunami caused large scale destruction and loss of life along the Eastern border.
Shortly after reconstruction began, a salvage squad came across the still intact meteorite and discovered that it emitted a high level of consistent electro-magnetic waves. Soon the meteorite was excavated and taken by the government for further study. Thus, Facility 0022 was born.Orichalcum, the name of the strange new metal, was set under many experiments. As the researchers tested its reaction to radiation a strange phenomenon took place, featureless apparitions began appearing throughout the Facility. At first they were merely like wisp of smoke, scarcely ever in the realm of tangibility. However, as the experiments persisted more of the faceless entities appeared and each of them becoming more solid, and also more unsettling as they took to doggedly stalking the inhabitants of Facility 0022.Notes within the Facility refer to the beings as a collective one researcher named Legion.The last contact with Facility was three months ago, and despite complaints from several workers the Project Lead was continuing with the experiments.

Reed and Jenna are sent to investigate the reasons behind the sudden loss of contact with a covert government research bunker. In such a situation it is not usually necessary for the Government to take such extreme measures as sending out members of its Special Reconnaissance and Purge Squad, Black Star. Only two soldiers have been ordered to take stock of the situation, for fear of a possible information leak. Their briefing prepared them for possible foreign hostilities, but what they discover in the wreckage of Facility 0022 is more horrendous than anyone could have imagined.

<Opening scene in the elevator entering Facility 0022>

General Puck: Welcome to Facility 22, children, the government’s highest priority research center for developing alternate sources of energy.
Reed: Does this field trip include a visit to the gift shop, my niece wanted a souvenir.
General Puck: Quiet, Thompson. This isn’t the time; this mission is a crisis point.
Jenna: Boasting some of the most advance technology known to man, and a personal security force. It seems unlikely that it was taken over.
General Puck:  Indeed, but because of the work being done there the higher ups aren’t taking any risk.
Reed: Then why the hell are they only sending two of us? If this is such an important mission shouldn’t they have brought out all of the Black Stars?
General Puck: No can do, Thompson. Officially this place doesn’t exist. Not even a quarter of the presidential cabinet is aware of its existence. The orders were to send a specialized two man-cell, no more. You should consider yourselves fortunate.
Reed: Yeah, just like hitting the fucking jackpot.
Jenna: Shove it Reed. We don’t have the time.
Reed: Yes, Ma’am.
Jenna: So what are the specifics, General?
General Puck: Facility 22 sends out a coded progress report at the end of every month. The last report was now more than three months ago, and at that time there seemed to be some issues among the researchers. You are entering via the personnel elevator, once inside you are to head for the main lab. In the event of encountering a hostile presence, you have orders to purge that presence. While moving to the lab you are to gather reconnaissance. Find out what happened down there, and once you reach the lab you are to locate the Project Lead, Dr. Hughes. You are also to retrieve a sample of the metal they have been testing. Understood?
Jenna & Reed: Yes, sir.
General Puck: All right soldiers, you are nearly at the cutoff point, the Facility has a Jamming Field around it to prevent leaking signals. In a few moments we’ll be disconnected. We’ll regain contact once you pass this point on your way up. Good Luck.

<Enter field, radio loses signal creates static>
They begin preparing their weapons.
Jenna: Why do you always try to get under the General’s skin?
Reed: Give me a break, he asks for it by always being so damn preachy.
Jenna: You’re a soldier with a child’s personality. Who knows what kind of trouble you’d get in if not for me?
Reed: So we’re kind of like Master Blaster?
Jenna: Hopeless.

<Elevator stops, but door fails to open>

Jenna: It must be jammed. Give me a second.
Takes out her tool kit and gets ready to mess with the control panel.
Reed shrugs and steps up to the doors. He slides his fingers into the gap and forces the doors.

Jenna: Brute, it seems you made a good analogy. I’m not going to ride on your back though.
Reed takes the point position and exits first
Reed: It’s dark, I can barely see.
Jenna pulls out a flashlight.
Jenna: Oh, god. What happened?
<They move forward, something skitters through the shadows>

Reed: Wait, did you see something?
Jenna: Never mind, just stay focused we need to get to the lab.

<Gameplay starts>

<Characters reach main room>

Jenna: I’ve never seen anything like this, what could have happened here.
Reed: We haven’t encountered any resistance; I don’t think we can attribute this to foreign hostilities.
Jenna: Someone wrecked this place. Stay alert; we need to find out exactly what happened here.

<Gameplay Resume>

<Characters head toward Medical Ward>

Jenna: Reed…something…strange happened here. We’d better get to the lab, quickly.

<Characters enter Medical Ward>

Jenna: The Armory is near here, we should check for supplies.

<Characters continue on>

Jenna fixes broken fuse box near Med Ward, switches lights on
Dead body is illuminated through bloodstained window

Jenna: Oh god!
Reed: What the fuck…how did this happen?

<Characters reach armory>

Jenna: Find any remaining weapons and ammo, whatever is going on we need to be prepared.

<Characters exit armory and head for Mainframe 1>

Reed: I don’t mean to sound like a pansy or anything, but this place is psyching me out.
Jenna: I never would’ve guessed that a big, strong guy like you was afraid of the dark.
Reed: ah, no I… uh, never mind.
